Cisco Live 2012 - First Day Review

The first full day at Cisco Live 2012 was a blast! I picked up quite a bit of info on MPLS (stay tuned for a future blog about that). Also, I met Terry Slattery who is a tremendously nice guy and for those who don't know, is a distinguished CCIE

The World of Solutions is great, lots of great vendors and booths. Tons of free t-shirts and trinkets. And of course the free food and beverages are nice too. The WoS is always well done and this year is spot on.

The wireless systems at CLUS have been plagued up to this point. They were working hard on it though and have said they've rectified the issues. We'll see how the rest of the week goes, hopefully a little smoother.

One gripe beyond the technical difficulties is the lack of a USB Flash drive to get copies of the PDFs prior to the sessions. I realize it's a considerable effort to get up to date copies of all presentations early enough to copy them to flash drives, but it's also a considerable effort to feed 16,000 people in an hour. Besides, who doesn't like getting another flash drive? This wouldn't be that big of a deal if the ciscolive2012.com site wasn't buckling under the pressure. The only way to download session PDFs is through this site and it has been failing constantly since this past Sunday. Hopefully they'll get it fixed today so we've got something for the last two days of the conference.

Aside from the few technical difficulties, this year's Cisco Live has been nothing short of awesome. The people here are great and they're what make this event so fun.

I'll try to get some more blog posts out soon (if I can fit in the time to write them between sessions). Thanks for reading!
